Based on Arnold Bennett’s The Old Wives’ Tale, this book cover was redesigned to convey the drastic evolution of time, age, and relationships in the lives of two sisters. An emphasis was placed on the duality of the two sisters, both of whom are depicted through the two hands on the front and back covers. The globe is broken and cracked, highlighting the tension that time brings to their two lives, splitting them in different directions. The design was continued through the front and back cover, spine, and the inner tabs.
